Attendance
The YRLC springboard meeting was a wonderful mix of education, socializing, and site seeing. Members from the GFYRC who attended were Alexandra Kendrick Tabarrok (national committee woman), Michael Tabarrok (general counsel), Dana Gordon (YRNF membership recruitment chairman). Clint Murphy (national committee man) was attending the top gun leadership class and thus was not present at YRLC.
Business
During the Board meeting we were presented with three Amendments. Chairman Jessica Colon on behalf of Ron Herbison proposed the first amendment. And called for disciplinary procedures upon an YRNF member who violated the YRNF governing documents or who went against the principles of the YRNF. This amendment was changed in committee to exclude the monetary penalties. And went to a vote by the members of the national committee. It was voted by the members to be sent back to committee by a roll call vote. The seconded Amendment regarded the state chairman’s association and inserted the phrase “for a term defined in the supplemental rules. Any vacancy in the office of the chairman shall be filled in accordance with the supplemental rules of the association.” This amendment passed the national committee by standing vote. The third amendment would have accomplished the same goal as the second amendment and thus was resented by its author Kerry Sullivan.
Social
Our YRLC began with a welcome reception at the Liaison Hotel with Minority Leader
Boehner in the Hill Room. He gave a rousing speech and answered many questions. That next Thursday morning we visited the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives with Congressman Kevin McCarthy U.S. House of Representatives, he spoke about his days as a young republican a told a couple of stories about what had happened on the floor. YRNF Primary parties
As YR’s across the country gathered to see whom the leaders would be. The Georgia YR’s had a great time watching the primary. It was filled with food, sprits, and good old republican politics. The Atlanta and Buckhead YR’s combined forces to put on a great party at the 5 Seasons Brewing Company in Sandy Springs co. sponsored by the Fulton co. G.O.P. While Ga YR national committeewoman, Alexandra Tabarrok put on a party for the Savannah YR’s in her home. Both events had fantastic turnout especially the AYR’s and the BYR’s with over 150 YR’s thought the night! Two T.V. stations covered the SAYR event with Ga YR national committeeman Clint Murphy giving commentary to WBMQ’s Ray Steele. WGKA broadcast live from the AYR/ BYR event and the GFYR chairman Jason Sheperd gave Huckabee analyses on air. Thank you to those of you who participated in this event especially Cameron Fash and Ed McAfee chairman of the Atlanta and Buckhead YR’s and Brian Dinapoli, for well being Brian. Go GOP!!!

Clint Murphy elected Georgia Young Republican National Committeeman
Clint Murphy, a Savannah REALTOR and long time supporter of the Republican Party was recently elected as the Georgia Young Republican National Committeeman in a special election.
Murphy has been involved for a number of years in the Republican Party in Georgia , as well as in Washington , DC and in Iowa . Murphy got his first taste of politics in 1990 as a young volunteer for Johnny Isakson in his campaign for Governor. Murphy credits that as being the spark that started his interest in getting involved with Republican politics.
Murphy’s first job out of college was on the staff of the late US Senator Paul D. Coverdell. He went on to work as a fundraiser at the National Republican Congressional Committee, serve in the Bush Administration, run a Congressional Campaign, and work in Iowa during the 2002 elections.
In 2003, Murphy returned to Savannah to begin his career in real estate. When Johnny Isakson announced for the Senate seat, Murphy signed up to co-chair his campaign in Savannah . Murphy was an early supporter of Casey Cagle in his campaign to become the first Republican elected to the office of Lt. Governor and helped lead the campaign on the coast.
Presently, Clint Murphy is on the Georgia Advisory Committee for John McCain for President and serves as Vice Chairman of the Savannah Young Republicans. Murphy serves as Chairman of the Chatham County Urban Transportation Citizens Advisory Committee and in 2007 ran unsuccessfully for the Savannah City Council.
In his spare time, Clint likes to bike and is involved with the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life and the American Diabetes Association’s Kiss a Pig competition.

Josh Mcoon Resigns as National Commitee Man
Please consider this my letter of resignation from the position of NationalCommitteeman. It has become evident to me that due to the mutual hostilitybetween the yrnf and the gfyrc that it is impossible for me to serve the yrnfwhile attending meetings to form a breakaway group. I will do all I can tosupport both orgs in the future. I recommend that my successor be clint murphy, since he had a passion for this position and his campaign is over.
Regards,
Josh McKoon
